I bought a cheap Finite brand case first. This one seemed great. It folded nicely, the keyboard was removable and the material was acceptable. Great viewing angles and able to move the magnetic keyboard or detach completely. The keyboard however, was horrible. Super loud and felt like it was from a $.25 gum ball machine.I decided to bite the bullet and buy this one. At first it seemed great. The keyboard is amazing, sturdy and quiet (which is one of the most important features I was looking for. There is only one viewing angle which is not ideal for plane rides or typing while it's on your lap on the couch in or bed. The biggest gripe I have with this is the tablet mode. When holding it in this mode, the iPad part slips below the back part with the keyboard. If you pick it up loosely with one hand it will slip. If you use it on the couch or in bed and you adjust yourself, it will slip. The only way to prevent this is to ALWAYS grip it firmly with one hand or use two hands (Which doesn't work if you're playing games or swiping with one hand). Also, when folded the keyboard is on the outside and can get scratched or dirty. If you fold it inside, the case doesn't line up properly and still has the slip issue.Unfortunately, I will be returning this and continuing the search for the "Perfect" case, which I highly doubt exists. Just ordered the Logitech combo keyboard/trackpad and the Rugged Folio. I will see if these are any better, but I highly doubt it. When opened and set into its working position it is easily moved about without detaching. The viewing angle created when open is perfect and the keyboard is 100% responsive to touch. I have owned the keyboard for nine months and the keys are starting to pop off, as other reviewers have noted. The first to go was the battery indicator key, which I never use, so it was only annoying and ugly but didn’t actually compromise function. But now the “delete” key has come off, and as I use this keyboard with my iPad to do the bulk of my writing, that is a major problem. Up until the keys started falling off it was a great little keyboard and did just what I needed. Unfortunately it seems this quality issue has not been resolved, so I will have to replace with another brand. UPDATE: After I wrote the original review, I went to a big box store to try to find a different keyboard for my iPad. None of the other options appealed to me, so I asked if I could purchase one of these and try it there in the store on the
chance the returned one was just a bad unit. They were happy to let me do that. The same thing happened! The unit would not even turn on, even though it was fresh out of the box. The brand representative and a store employee both worked on it and worked on it— they tried my iPad on a different keyboard to make sure it wasn’t my iPad (it wasn’t). They looked up multiple instructional videos to make sure we were doing the setup correctly. We were all scratching our heads. Then they called over a
third guy (“The Geek of Geeks,” they called him) to look the situation over. He followed all the steps and began to speculate that maybe there was just a bad batch of these keyboards out there. But then he said, “I wonder if there’s residue from the plastic insert in the battery case,” (when you take it out of the box, there is a yellow plastic tab in the battery case that you need to pull out) and fussed at it a bit to make sure it was clean. And boom— the keyboard worked perfectly. I am typing
on it now. I bet that’s what happened to the one I returned, too, and the only reason I’m not giving this handy little keyboard five stars is that if the residue from the little tab was an issue twice for me, it’s surely happened to someone else. I’m sure if the fine folks at Logitech can adjust the tab so it doesn’t happen to other people, as well. Also it comes with no instructions—in any language—just four outline sketches, (but the box is pretty!) Occasionally it will give wrong letters on the screen such as - instead of ?. Its keys are ok but there’s a fairly loud click on the space key. You also have to pull hard to close the case—even that is a a bit hard to figure out. I’m going to return this and get a new Zagg made for the 7th gen iPad. I had a Zagg for my old iPad and it was perfect. Unfortunately it didn’t fit this iPad. I’m disappointed with Logitech. A few obvious tweaks would have made it much better. Update14 December 2020. I’m returning this case because of the limitations above. I have replaced it with Zagg Pro Keys which is normally pricier but I got 40% off on Black Friday making it about the same price. It’s much better all round, keys more tactile, back light choice of 7 colors with 3 intensities, additional shortcut keys, more angles for the Ipad, keyboard easily detaches and it has the caps lock light I wanted too. 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfeita para IPad 8 geração Reviewed in Brazil on April 23, 2021 Tenho um IPad 8 e ficou perfeita, resistente, protege todo o iPad, digitação fácil, conexão igualmente fácil, nível da bateria no iPad, parece que vai durar bastante pois uso todos os dias há mais ou menos 30 dias e continua 100% carregado. Apple Pencil encaixa certinho no lugar dela. O único defeito é que praticamente dobra peso e espessura do iPad. Meu marido tem a da Apple e acredito que essa é melhor pois a da Apple não cobre a parte de trás do iPad. Mas em comparação não ganha tanto em volume quanto essa. Compraria de novo certamente! cosas a considerar, es un producto que considero que está bastante bien por su precio, pero, a pesar de eso tiene muchas cosas que no lo hacen merecedor de las 5 estrellas, aquí vamos; Eso sí, hay cosas que hace estupendamente bien, la conectividad es perfecta, lo pones en la funda, lo adhieres con los imanes y directamente se conecta, funciona de maravilla, en cuanto lo quitas de su posición para poder usarlo como una tablet normal se desconecta para que no presiones accidentalmente las teclas. El tacto del teclado es realmente agradable, se siente de calidad, igual que todos los materiales, todo se siente super estable, perfectamente puedes sostener el iPad agarrándolo por el teclado y no pasa nada, es como si fuera una laptop, el diseño te puede agradar más o menos, a mi personalmente no me disgusta, pero tienes que tener en cuenta que si no tienes un Apple Pencil tendrás una bonita agarradera que te servirá para abrir la funda (como es mi caso), la función de encender y apagar la pantalla cuando abrimos y cerramos la funda va de maravilla al igual que los accesos rápidos de la parte superior. Concluyendo: debes tener en cuenta si este es un producto para ti, si escribes mucho te va a venir de maravilla, pues convertirás a tu iPad en prácticamente una laptop, pero definitivamente no es un producto para todo el mundo. Y como recomendación te podría decir que no te preocupes por las baterías, es verdad que son desechables, pero el precio de las mismas es bastante accesible y el modelo es bastante fácil de encontrar son unas CR2032, aparte que prometen una buena duración, y otra cosa es considerar comprar una funda aparte sin teclado que sea más sencilla y mas ligera, por que para algunas actividades en las que se prescinde del teclado no hace falta cargar con tanto peso muerto. 1.0 out of 5 stars Completely dead. It looks like it may have been a return as there was a finger print on the battery when I removed it to try new batteries (it still didn’t work). Sin embargo, una vez tuve que usarlo por alrededor de 1 hora seguido y se desconectaba sólo y volvía a conectarse y no sólo eso, el nivel de batería (indicador LED) se ponía en rojo, una experiencia bastante frustrante. Otro detalle que en lo muy particular no me gustó del todo es que, como sólo tiene una posición para escritura, no siempre es cómodo el ángulo. Lo califico con 3 estrellas porque el defecto de conexión lo volvió inutilizable y lo tuve que devolver.
